As a true family business, we believe it is important to take care of one another and the people around us. While we may now have an international character, we still have both feet firmly planted in the soil of Overijssel – where our roots lie. And that’s also where we show our social commitment. Through our support for local initiatives and sponsorships, for example. In addition, we have our own foundation through which we support broader causes.
Jan! Foundation
Through the Jan! Foundation, we support projects that make the world a better place. This can be anything—from financial contributions to a local music association for after-school music activities to helping build a clinic in Mozambique. What matters most is that our foundation is there for everyone; our employees are also encouraged to propose projects that are close to their hearts.
The foundation is a meaningful tribute to our former director, Jan Heuver, and to his belief in the power of personal connection—human to human. Because strong bonds truly make the world a better place.
Project Karin
Karin van der Haar is a top athlete, former Paralympian, and the wife of our colleague Alex van der Haar. Due to the effects of a stroke combined with a previous accident, a specially adapted car became her only way to regain freedom and independence.
That’s why, in 2021, we organized the sporting event #SamenvoorKarin (“Together for Karin”) on the Heuver premises. We raised an impressive €43,500 during the event. Previously, the Jan! Foundation had already contributed €4,500. Together with earlier fundraising efforts, the full required amount of €60,000 was successfully collected.
HHC
Driven by our commitment to local involvement, we proudly sponsor football club HHC Hardenberg. Since the 2020/2021 season, Heuver has been the club’s new and proud main sponsor and shirt sponsor.
Heuver and HHC have been connected for many years. Many of our employees and family members have a personal connection to the club’s iconic orange and black colors. This step toward main sponsorship is a deepening of that longstanding relationship.
